Hunting for Bigfoot!

Are you Gullible....?   I am, if by gullible you mean willing to go out on a limb and try something out for the first time in the hopes of discovering a new sensation or event, or at-least having a ton of fun time with a buddy over the weekend while seeking an adventure. To me being gullible is about seeing the world through a pair of fresh lenses and finding happiness through discovery.

So this weekend its official...... BIG FOOT HUNTING TIME! ....... Let me explain.

Last year on a 4,000 mile ride across the country on my way to Sturgis for the motorcycle rally, A buddy and I rode through northern California through a town called Willow Creek where we found a very interesting culture. The entire town was centered around BIG FOOT, the mythical size 22 shoe furry creature legend to dwell in the high mountains of the west. Besides this being the home for the most famous Bigfoot sighting known to man, the town has really taken the legend to heart. Each year the town holds a parade in honor of Mr. Bigfoot, they even named him the honorary Mayor of their little town. They even have a museum dedicated to the myth which we intend to visit. here is a link:  http://bigfootcountry.net/bigfoot-exhibit

Just in the hour we spent passing through we were truly mesmerized not only the natural area around us but also the people who lived there, and so we vowed that someday we would return to hunt for Bigfoot.

I have some extra motive for the trip however, I have finally perfected a new windshield for my adventure touring motorcycle, the V-Strom DL 1000, a bike I plan to ride to Paraguay in the next couple of years. The new shield is mounted to the bike via a set of MADS TAD brackets and has a re-curve at the top which stops the buffeting and turbulence caused at high speeds. I am also hoping this is a good opportunity to get this bike into the dirt a bit and get more comfortable traveling on the gravel roads on anything other than a dirt bike.

We plan on making a video this trip that highlights our adventure, and who knows.... It might even end up here on the blog. We hope to interview people who have actually seen the BIG FOOT in person and if we are very lucky we might even see the furry Goliath ourselves. This trip promises awesome motorcycle roads through the feather river, excellent scenery and a great opportunity to get away from the concrete jungle.

Wish Me Luck -

Gullible
